Diploma in TESOL
The Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages is specifically designed for those who are interested in teaching English as a second or foreign language. On completion of your course, you will receive a Level 7 Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. This is endorsed by an OFQUAL approved awarding body, TQUK, at a level of learning equivalent to level 7.
Course structure: This course includes three major parts as following: 1. Input sessions 2. Practicum 3. Assignments
Assessment criteria: The assessment is designed to show the candidate’s teaching competence and awareness in relation to: Language, the Learner, the principles underlying classroom practice, and the resources and the materials used in teaching English to adults. The assessment is based on the following:
• Planning, Teaching, and Professionalism
• Written Assignments
Students will be given the following grades depending on their task completion: Grade A: Pass with Distinction Grade B: Pass with Credit Grade C: Pass Fail
Course Aims: The course enables candidates to: a) develop and awareness of language and a knowledge of the description of English and apply these in their professional practice b) acquire essential subject knowledge and familiarity with the principles of effective teaching c) acquire a range of practical skills for teaching English to adult learners d) demonstrate their ability to apply their learning in a real teaching context e) develop familiarity with appropriate resources and materials for use with adult learners of English.
Prerequisite
Preferably, students should have a degree-equivalent qualification. However, the most important consideration is that students must be fluent in both oral and written English. Applicants are required to meet the minimum overall academic IELTS band score 6.5 No less than 6.5 in each skill. Alternatively, applicants can submit any other qualifications equivalent to overall Academic IELTS band score 6.5 provided that it has been achieved no more than two years prior to the program commencement date. If applicants have no evidence to prove the required score, they are encouraged to sit our mock IELTS held on every Thursday at 11:00 or the TESOL interview held on every Saturday from 14:00 pm to 19:00 pm.
Tuition & Fee
The course fee covers both the instruction and issuance if the Diploma. The applicants are charged for class instruction in Rials and for the Issuance in GBP.
Tuition fees are refundable ONLY before the first day of class, less a 10% cancellation fee.
